I leave in France and I just come back from a 15 days trip in SA. After my trip I found that SA was a nice country and that the recent story of SA since abolition of apartheid was a good hope for co-living between different races. Seeing this video makes me sad and I think that young white people does not realize the unique opportunity given by history when mandela became president. SA could have been today a 100% black african country that would have kick the white people out after a bloody civil war. The worst about that is that most of the white people in SA are very religious and christian, they probably have forgotten the number one rule of their cult : love.

I want to put a bit of lard on the fire and see the sparks flames roar up. Regarding the European influence on South Africa, the question I want to ask is what would have happened to South Africa if the Dutch did not choose to create a colony and the English did not take over and the newly formed Afrikaans faction did not rise up against the English and to ultimately gain independence from Britain? If South Africa have been left wild and the people of South Africa been left to pursue their own culture and practices, would they have had a chance to compete in a the world economy now? If left undisturbed until now, would South Africa have been better of? All views welcome, off course!

It is incredible that people think they can still justify the video by ‘explaining what REALLY happened’. It’s there for us to see for ourselves, so please don’t bother. And yes, the crime and rape and pillaging and corruption is wrong but what does that have to with with this common (and I really mean COMMON in every possible way) lack of courtesy and respect? And for the VF to chime in with their “Christian-based values”…. it makes me want to give up. Black Angel, if you want to persist in writing Afrikaans on an English blog, please note that the correct spelling of “LY” (to suffer”) is exactly that (LY) and not “LEI” (to lead) as you have it above. We don’t want to be lead and will not follow, thanks all the same. Reg so, my ou maat? The “bottle with Oros” theory is a red herring, it does not exist. Listen to the audio; the voice tells piss-boy to “knyp hom af, nie te veel nie”. Knyp hom af can be understood in the context of urinating but not in the context of pouting something from a bottle. Nice try, though. But unconvincing.

To Mother: You use the word “atrocity” and then compare the video to Wiesbaden. You obviously have a very bad grasp of the English language. Either look up the word in a dictionary or let me give you examples of atrocities being committed in Africa today. To compare what happened in the ‘Reitz video’, to Wiesbaden, is a monumental slap in the face of Holocaust survivors! You obviously failed your assignment!! Join a ‘ Rape Crisis Centre’ and do some counseling. Better still, counsel survivors of families who have been killed by mindless criminals. Come back and then compare it to this “atrocity”. Qolest, have you ever handled a machine gun? Ventilating a machine gun is not possible!

I think it’s time for certain people in this blog to take their blinkers off and to put things in perspective. This video PALES INTO INSIGNIFICANCE when compared to the mayhem that is taking place in SA today. Why not shout,
from the tallest buildings, about the rape of toddlers, the rape of mothers, sisters, grandmothers and the
unmitigating murders taking place DAILY. Compare these acts, committed by savage sub-humans, with the Reitz video. Get real, the Reitz video is a childish, untasteful prank. It is not an act of barbarism or depravity. Here
in SA we have a minister who has the audacity to stand up in Parliament to tell the whites (only the whites) that
they must either stop whinging about crime or leave the country. This same stooge has just announced the disbanding of the Scorpions and subsequently attempts to fool the literate by playing around with words.White racism is bad, black racism knows NO BOUNDS!!!

BlackFemale, Love…sisters, i love both of you. As much as you guys have different opinions, they are not parallel. The bottom line of it all, you love this country and want to see it taking the next step. South Africa has been standing on the same spot for a very long time now…even way after democracy. We can’t just forgive and forget…it’s a process.

Yes black female, I agree. Personally I think this country has PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder. I think all they years of apartheid have taken their toll on the black community. I think a lot of white people live in fear, fear of loss. If it were possible, workshops that could bridge the gap across racial divides would work wonders. This country has potential but it is in danger of going to pot for the wrong reasons.
