The power of blogging! This little site has enjoyed a small audience of new readers and die-hards, mostly South African based who visit it for a little controversy, a little light relief and the occasional brain teaser. Certain posts have enjoyed higher traffic than others but on the whole we averaged about 70-100 unique visitors and between 200-300 pageloads. That was until yesterday!
Early yesterday morning I posted the video of the Racial Incident at The University of Free State and things got a little crazy. Returning to my computer after a dinner with the Mrs at Doppio Zero in Bedfordview to check my daily stats late last night, I noticed something a little unusual, my usually flowing graph was flat with a single, very high skyscraper at the end. My first thought was that something had gone wrong!
Yesterday we enjoyed 7450 visitors who viewed 11408 pages… by 7:22 this morning (CAT), 1320 visitors had viewed 2227 pages. What happened? Well it turns out Le Figaro (the French Newspaper) as well as CNN, The Times (South Africa), The Sowetan and a number of other sites had all included links to the blog. So today I am one proud little blogger!
So I never thought I would get to say this but… “Welcome to all our international viewer! We hope to see you back regularly”
