The Hikers and The Lantern

I found it! Another one of those ‘I almost got it but I am tearing my friggin hair out’ brainteasers. I was at Doppio Zero in Sunninghill sipping on a double espresso and watching them bake fresh bread (I think they kneed the dough!) when I got an email from brandStrategy about a new game they found.

In this one you have to get the entire camping party across the river before the 30 seconds of light you have left disappears. You can take one or two people across at the same time but not more.

Don’t worry how long they seem to be taking the seconds tick away at the exact speed of the slowest person in the party.
Here are the official rules… enjoy! (Yes, I have the answer but I am not telling) Thanks once again to brandStrategy who keep me rolling in games. I know it will be on their website soon but hey… I beat them too it!

The Rules

1. It is night time so you require a lantern
2. The lantern will only burn for 30 seconds
3. It takes each person a different amount of time to cross
4. This is indicated by the number below their picture
5. A team will always walk at the speed of the slowest person
6. You may transfer one or two hikers at a time
7. Simply select your one or two hikers by clicking on their face and press GO

The River Crossing Game

Help the family cross the river. Read the instructions carefully before you start…

Instructions

This is a great logic test, it can be solved and I am sure you will enjoy solving it as much as you will get frustrated while trying.

The rules are as follows

“Everybody has to cross the river”.

You need to move the entire family from the one river bank to the other.

When you make an error you will be hear a sound and watch the consequences of your action. You can quit but you cannot start over until you have finished. IE you need to find a way to fix your own mistakes.

The Rules

1 A maximum 2 persons on the raft at a time

2 The father cannot stay with any of the daughters without their mother’s presence

3 The mother cannot stay with any of the sons without their father’s presence

4 The thief (striped shirt) cannot stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there

5 Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft i.e. one of them must be on the raft at all times.

6 To move the people click on them.

7 To move the raft click on the pole on the river bank

8 Click on the Blue Round Button to start puzzle
